Portrait Workshop

INSTRUCTED by Catherine Nunn
MAY 24, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, 1:00 - 2:00 pm
$80 ($56 for members)

Every face is unique. Becoming familiar with classical proportions of the head and face will allow you to see how each of us varies from these norms. In this workshop, we will explore the basic structure of the portrait and how to achieve a likeness by “unseeing” details and instead focus on larger masses of light and shadow. Drawing from the live model and referencing Catherine’s extensive library of art images, students will have a good foundation from which to further explore the art of portraiture on their own.

Every student will receive a printed handout, a guide to portrait drawing basics of 27 pages, carefully composed by Catherine.

Registration is limited to 10 people.
